Spa Review: The Met

In the interest of the article's Spa Review, I desired to experience a Spa experience that preserved and uplifted the name Spa. Debating from a few different places, I made a consultation with a locally renowned Club & Salon in downtown Sarasota's Saint Armand's Circle, The Met. The front desk was essentially 'stocked' with 3 front desk employees (along with their flat panel computers) greeting me with smiles and welcoming me by name. There wasn't any waiting, since the front desk personnel immediately took me to the Spa.
Inside Spa treatment area was visibly differentiating in ambiance and mood, an indication of a womb-like environment. It was dark or candlight, and felt oval-esque the same shape as the dwelling. The background music was consistent in every single area we moved through. The walk involved through dark hallways past quiet treatment rooms, then by having a sun-lit open relaxation room with cucumber filled water jugs, plus a modest couch/seating area. The walls curved round in to a nail room (that has been more box-like, and definitive of it's purpose from an architectural perspective), after which past 2 wet rooms, and lastly, into the dressing room. It was conceivable that this dressing room was much nearer to top desk, though the walk through the Spa was an experience itself. I think the more time your journey takes to get involved with the spa, the more the client adjusts their outside mentality, and much more into the Spa mentality. The front desk agent showed me the locker room. Each locker had fuzzy, tan robes, and very Tommy Bahama beach flip flops. Both which, I just couldn't wait to put on. The locker rooms weren't connected immediately for the restrooms, which has been kind of strange. There was only one (single) bathroom away from the locker room, i felt they ought to have already been linked to the locker area so that if you walk-out, you happen to be fully ready.
Robed and slippered, I made my journey to the Spa Relaxation room, and was impressed that this seemingly “modest” looking couch was actually tempurpaedic. The bath had a combination of herb teas, so emergency mini bar it was like relaxing in a big cup of tea, with added sea salts. A bowl of peppermint water with a washcloth (for upwards of the eye area) sat alongside the tub. The tub was too large (long-legged) personally, along with the bubbles were very loud. There was a bar for shorter people to take their feet facing, nevertheless it kept falling out of place and was something of a nuisance. But, how could the employee be familiar with that unless they has it themself? Though it may sound as being a good idea, I wondered, how much is it possible to relax in somebody else's bathtub?
Kelly escorted me into the womb-area from the Spa, in to a dark massage room to the Herbal Detox Wrap. I was comforted simply to walk in the room. It was warm, feeling secure, and contained. I got about the extra-wide massage table, where she place a warm sheet that had soaked in herbal waters (more peppermint), and wrapped me in blankets. A short while of scalp work, then left to wind down for about 20-min, I must say i felt the deep relaxation sink in here. It have to have taken me an hour for being at the Spa in order to end up in relaxing. I was nearly groggy as soon as Kelly went back in. Eventually, I ran across my way back for the dressing room. Taking off the robe and wearing street clothes again would be a bit of a downer! High of what people look for in a Spa experience is the way they're taken care of just like a beloved child. A Spa should experience every piece of information of guest flow moment by moment in order to do that. Perhaps this is a new definition of “Hospitality” that does not everyone is about the same page about. It takes Hospitality one step further with the addition of understanding environments and final touches that enables anyone to meditate. What environment results in a space on an expansive mind vacation? It surpasses and feel pampered and “loved-on”.
Overall, The Met certainly did create a seamless, ruffle free experience, and even just surprised me with added comforts I wasn't expecting. It was an outing I'd return to The Met for again and again!
